Melba might appear timid when she first meets you, but don't let that fool you! Once she is comfortable her friendly and outgoing personality shines. She is a fun-loving teenager who enjoys getting to know new people through social outings and long walks. She has strong leadership abilities, which she used to develop a student council at a previous school. She loves playing basketball, volleyball, and football. Her favorite basketball player is Michael Jordan. Her hobbies include talking to friends on social media, playing video games, drawing, arts and crafts, and completing crossword puzzles. She loves going shopping and eating out. Her favorite food is chicken tenders, but she is open to trying new things. Melba’s long-term goal is to join the US Armed Forces and become a police officer. Melba also has a passion for helping others and hopes to become a social worker to make a difference in youth’s lives.

Melba's forever family will offer patience, consistency, and involvement in her life. They will commit to allowing her a safe place to express herself and continue to allow contact with her biological family. They will be able to give her one-on-one attention but also know when to allow her independence. She thrives in a consistent, rewarding, and structured environment.
