Joel

Joel is soft-spoken and gentle, approaching the world with curiosity, courage, and a shy smile, even when he feels nervous or uncertain. He loves reading and a few of his favorites are the Big Nate books, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and R. L. Stine books. Graphic novels and comics are right up his alley, and he wants to be a graphic designer someday. He likes going to school and looks forward to his science class! Joel works hard and is motivated to keep working to make good grades. After school, he enjoys playing video games, basketball, swimming, and playing outside. The adults around him appreciate how helpful and responsible he is. 

Joel’s forever family will be supportive, providing him with structure and stability. They will encourage him as he explores his interests and makes plans for the future. His family will have empathy for him and celebrate the progress he has made! He will do well in a home with diversity, where he is able to explore his culture. Joel would love a family that has pets, especially a dog. He will do well on his own or with other children and appreciates having personal space when needed. Joel communicates well when he is given time, space, support, and reassurance. He responds with an infectious smile when you cheer him on, and it’s impossible to not give everything to see him light up. A sweet and hopeful teen, he wants to be a part of a family as soon as possible.
