Community Match Events Building Forever Families
At Partnerships for Children, we know the power of connection can change lives. Our mission is rooted in making tomorrow better than today for children and families involved with the child welfare system. One way we're bringing that mission to life is through intentional, impact-driven events that increase the possibility of finding a Forever Family.
Our Foster Community and Heart Gallery programs have come together to host a Community Match Event in partnership with the Department of Family Protective Services and the Region 7 Adoption Collaborative. Partnerships for Children oversees the Adoption Collaborative, this initiative's Mission is sharing the responsibility to strengthen the adoption community and build forever families. The Collaborative is made up of 11 Child Placing Agencies strengthening the adoption community.
Community Match Events are designed to highlight youth in Texas foster care who are currently waiting to be adopted. These specific events are designed to give children in foster care and families who are actively licensed and seeking to adopt the opportunity to meet in relaxed, engaged settings. Match Events are about making a natural, meaningful connection that can lead to Forever Families.
Faces and names have been covered to protect the identities of children and families.
Our goal at each Community Match Event is to facilitate at least one meaningful connection that can grow into a match, taking steps towards adoption.. This Summer's match event is bringing together 20 foster children and 13 families who are hoping to make a lifelong connection.
Community support plays a vital role in helping children find permanent, loving homes. Foster Community equips foster and kinship families with tools they need to thrive, offering everything from resource navigation to information sessions for those considering fostering or adoption. The Heart Gallery of Central Texas helps raise awareness for youth waiting to be adopted by sharing their stories and portraits in community spaces throughout the region.
Together, these programs support children and families every step of the way in navigating the child welfare system, building stronger futures through education and advocacy.
