To report a suspected case of child abuse, call the Texas Abuse Hotline at (800) 252-5400.
The hotline is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reports can also be made at
https://www.txabusehotline.org/
Each day, a child in Austin is in desperate need of protection. A Child Protective Services caseworker may need to remove a child from her home to ensure her safety. This child has nothing; she clings to the caseworker for comfort while the caseworker takes comfort that she can give the child more than just a hug.

Partnerships for Children provides the caseworker a few things for the child – pajamas, a toothbrush, clothing, and a teddy bear to hold on to. For this child, these things will make a scary situation a little easier. For the caseworker, they ease the stress of a difficult task.
