Partnerships for Children opened its doors for the purpose of providing support to our area CPS caseworkers. At that time, this meant stocking the Rainbow Room with emergency items and providing personal gifts for the kids in their care during the holidays.
Through the generous support of our community, Partnerships for Children has not only grown these two programs, but has been able to expand our reach to additional departments within Child Protective Services. For example, we learned from the PAL (Preparation for Adult Living) caseworkers that they desperately needed a mentoring program for the youth that are aging out of foster care that they serve. This prompted us to research, and ultimately launch, the YES Mentoring Program. In addition, we have taken over the Heart Gallery, which raises awareness for kids that are up for adoption in Central Texas, directly benefiting caseworkers in the Foster to Adopt units.
Though the resources might look different, our mission remains the same…
Partnerships for Children provides critical resources to abused and neglected children in our community who are in the care of Child Protective Services.
