Job Title: KING Music Outreach Coordinator (FT)

Reports to: KING Program Manager

Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid)

Salary:  $45,000-50,000 (commensurate with experience)

Partnerships for Children is a non-profit organization that supports children in foster care and their caregivers. We are seeking an experienced Outreach Coordinator to support our Kids in a New Groove (KING) music mentoring program.  This program provides youth ages 5+, who have experience with the child welfare system, with a music mentor who provides weekly private music lessons, connection, and support.  This position will serve as the lead recruiter of mentors, maintain instruments and coordinate concerts and showcases for our mentors and mentees.  This position will work closely with the KING Program Manager to ensure a positive experience for all youth and mentors and help raise awareness for the program throughout the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement outreach efforts across the Austin area to recruit potential mentors, including attending community events, creating content for social media, etc. 
  • Conduct interviews and manage the full screening process and training of new mentors to assess program compatibility.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to support the matching process, applying best practices to coordinate the best match based on location, instrument, learning style, etc. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with music partners, including venues, recording studios, promoters, and instrument vendors through regular communication.
  • Manage inventory of all instruments, including overseeing repairs, resale, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Coordinate a minimum of 5 music events per year, including recitals, showcases and other concerts.
  • Support event planning logistics of music events in coordination with PFC Events Manager.
  •  Collect and input data, including demographic and mentor intake data to ensure accurate information is collected.
  • Implement program evaluation methods to measure outcomes and outputs and track overall programmatic impact.
  • Support Program Manager in response to mentee needs, including crisis support, referrals and resources, and other supports as needed.
  • Assist the PFC Grants Manager in the development of grant reports and grant applications, as needed.
  • With the support of the Mentoring Senior Manager, manage the online training platform for mentors and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Collaborate with PFC Mentoring teams to plan and implement mentor appreciation and youth engagement activities on a quarterly basis. 
  • Represent KING and PFC at partner events, coalition meetings, and other engagements as needed.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of music education, Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel throughout the Austin area.
  • 3+ years of experience as a musician, music teacher, or other related field.
  • Experience repairing instruments is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends as needed for events; hybrid work includes a minimum of 2 onsite days a week.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with families of child protective services is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of data tracking software and tools.
  • Passion for non-profit work and commitment to supporting children in foster care.
